Ryan Gosling appears very much to be the man of the moment. He has several high profile movies coming up and each one is as diverse as the next. We will see him next in Crazy, Stupid, Love, then in mid September will see the release of Cannes winner Drive and then to wrap up the fall he will take the main stage in George Clooney‘s political drama The Ides of March, which looks terrific.
However, he still has other films in production which could be even more interesting, one of which is The Place Beyond the Pines and today we can bring you a first look from the set.
The Place Beyond the Pines stars Ryan Gosling as a motorcycle stunt rider called Luke who turns to crime in order to provide for his wife and children. The film reunites him with Blue Valentine director Derek Cianfrance and the two seem to work exceedingly well together, Gosling was terrific in that film and there’s no doubt he will be terrific in this. Bradley Cooper will star as a cop-come-politician that butts heads with Gosling’s Luke.
Gosling is a chameleon like actor and this very goth look oddly fits his persona. The film is only in the early days of shooting and won’t see the inside of theatres until 2013. It’s a long ways off but with this pedigree, I personally can’t wait to see it.
