Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, Luke Cage – they are, in essence, the four corners of Marvel‘s small-screen universe, and will soon join forces for the long-anticipated Defenders series towards the end of 2017. But one question that has and will continue to loom large over Marvel Studios is whether these characters will ever make the transition onto the silver screen; wishful thinking though it may be, Chris Pratt even staked a claim for The Punisher to cameo in the MCU.

It’s a topic that was also presented to Avengers: Infinity War helmers Joe and Anthony Russo, who hinted that, at the very least, the possibility of a crossover isn’t entirely off the table.

Keep in mind that the Russo brothers likely don’t hold final say on the matter – licensing agreements and other logistical issues can also have a factor – but it seems the directors are at least considering the opportunity.

Per Toronto Sun:

The Russos haven’t ruled out the possibility of Netflix super-types like Daredevil or Jessica Jones coming to the aid of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. “We do consider everyone,” said Anthony Russo. “We don’t want to get too specific about what’s going to happen with these movies. We want these movies to be a surprise for audiences.”

When pressed about Brie Larson’s casting and potential involvement in Infinity War – a question that has come to the fore in the past – Joe Russo explained:

“It’s an incredible piece of casting. You couldn’t ask for better. Not only is she an amazingly talented actor but she’s a wonderful human being. We’re really looking forward to the opportunity of re-teaming with her… if we were to get the chance to work with that character.”

Avengers: Infinity War has been pegged for release on May 4, 2018. Crammed full of new cameos – Guardians of the Galaxy included – its sequel, previously titled Infinity War – Part 2, is now on the hunt for a new moniker. When it comes to that fabled TV/movie crossover, though, do you believe Joe and Anthony Russo can engineer a workaround so that Earth’s Mightiest Heroes share the screen with the denizens of Hell’s Kitchen and beyond?
