Warren Beatty, had all but fallen off the radar over the past few years but more recently, Beatty has been climbing his way back up the ladder of notoriety.
Beatty, last year published a biography titled Star, his wife, Annette Bening received an Oscar nomination, and the victory of the Dick Tracy lawsuit, have all slowly been bringing the once upon a time superstar back into media attention.
It was announced in June that Beatty would return to the screen with a biopic of Howard Hughes. At the time, a large array of stars were linked to be circling roles in the project including; Jack Nicholson, Alec Baldwin, Annette Bening, Shia La Beouf, Evan Rachel Wood, Andrew Garfield, and Rooney Mara.
Today, it was reported that The Social Network star Rooney Mara has joined the film. However her involvement in the project is currently clouded, with other reports saying Beatty will now “back to the drawing board” and others saying he will “try and cast around” Mara for the remainder of the roles. Mara, who came to out attention last year in David Fincher’s The Social Network, will star this year’s U.S. adaptation of the world wide best seller, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, directed by her Social Network director.
No other information is known on the project yet, but we can only wait in expectation on how this will turn out.
