Ron Howard Responds To Make Solo 2 Happen Campaign Again

Solo: A Star Wars Story will no doubt go down in history as the lowest-grossing entry in the saga, a dishonor that it probably doesn't deserve as it's far from the worst-reviewed Star Wars movie. In fact, it has a lot of dedicated fans out there who believe Alden Ehrenreich deserves another go at playing the young, scruffy-looking nerf herder. The #MakeSolo2Happen campaign has particularly gained a lot of traction since Solo's 1 year anniversary back in May.

This week, director Ron Howard reacted to a tweet that shared the campaign’s hashtag and offered his thanks for those fans making it known to Disney that they want to see more. “I had a great experience on #SolotheMovie,” Howard wrote. “Glad you’d like more!”

Of course, Howard isn’t the only person who worked on the film who wants to come back for a sequel. Chewbacca actor Joonas Suotamo has shared his interest in making a Solo 2 on his Instagram account a couple of times as well. The same goes for Ray Park, who would likely have had a major role as Darth Maul in the aborted sequel after his brief, shocking cameo in the first film.

Given the lackluster box office gross, it doesn’t seem probable that another movie will happen, despite the valiant efforts of the fans. However, the gift of Disney Plus may have handed Lucasfilm another way to continue the adventures of the young Han. We Got This Covered has previously reported that the studio plans to shift all of their scrapped spinoff movie plans into TV series for the upcoming streaming service. The likes of Lando, Qi’Ra and more could get their own shows and as for Maul, he may turn up on the Obi-Wan series starring Ewan McGregor.
