The Marvel Cinematic Universe is by far the most exciting and extraordinary superhero film franchise ever, and it just keeps getting better. Producer Kevin Feige recently sat with EW (via The Playlist) to talk about upcoming movies set in the aforementioned universe, such as James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy. Here’s what he said:

“It’s a huge story on a massive canvas. We can take it to all those crazy places as long as all the characters respond in an emotionally truthful way. That’s why I believe people are going to respond to Chris Pratt and to an alien Zoë Saldana—because they did respond to that one time before [with Avatar]. And to a tree and a raccoon who, it is certainly our intention, will steal the whole movie.

While we’re all quite thrilled to see every comic book fan’s favorite raccoon appear on the big screen for the first time, there’s still no word on who’s going to voice the character, or even Groot, for that matter. Jim Carrey was rumored to be in talks to star as Rocket Raccoon, but this claim was quickly denied by the actor. Guardians of the Galaxy will star Chris Pratt as Star-Lord, Zoë Saldana as Gamora, Dave Bautista as Drax the Destroyer, Michael Rooker as Yondu, and Lee Pace in an unspecified role.

On the other hand, Marvel is keeping several aspects of Phase 3 under wraps. Despite rumors and claims that Black Panther and Dr. Strange would get their own movies, nothing has been truly confirmed. Director Edgar Wright is currently wrapping up production on The World’s End, therefore he should be free to star working on Ant-Man soon, though no actors are currently attached to star as the titular character. Nevertheless, the screenplay will need to be revised and polished so it can fit within the continuity of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Feige said:

“We’ve talked about various names over the past eight years but as you can imagine they keep changing as time goes by. But towards the end of this year, we’ll buckle down and start casting and start refining the script, which is great and which is very Edgar. He has done a great job being incredibly true to the comics but is putting his own spin on it, so we’ll be drawing on multiple mythologies for this one.”

Ant-Man will hit theaters on November 6, 2015.
