There’s just no stopping Mr. Robert Pattinson is there? He’s on a mission and he won’t quit until he’s succeeded. Pattinson is determined to shed his Twilight image, no matter what it takes. He recently had his new film Bel Ami released and he’ll premiere Cosmopolis at Cannes this week, which is highly anticipated.
Looking to the future, he’s already announced a new film that will see him reunite with his Cosmopolis director David Cronenberg, he’ll star in the Saddam Hussein film Mission: Blacklist and then there’s David Michod‘s The Rover that he’s attached to.
If that wasn’t enough, today the young actor announced another new project, he’ll be starring in a film about The Band. Pattinson broke the news while talking with Les InRockuptibles (via RPLife), check it out below.
“I’m going to do a movie about The Band, the one that played with [Bob] Dylan. [It’s] a beautiful script about the nature of songwriting.”
For those unfamiliar with The Band, they were quite big back in the 60’s and 70’s and they were very influential. Some of their hits include The Weight and Up On Cripple Creek and any fan of music should be instantly familiar with their work.
No word yet on who Pattinson play but it will likely by one of the main members of the group, so probably Levon Helm or Robbie Robertson.
Not much else is know right now about the project but as I’ve stated before, I think Pattinson has a bright post-Twilight career ahead of him and I’m thrilled to see him add another interesting project to his slate.
