Richard Gere and Topher Grace are CIA Agents pursuing a Russian killer long thought dead until he murders a U.S. Senator in plain daylight in The Double. Directed by Michael Brandt from a script written by Brandt and Derek Haas, the screenwriting team behind Wanted and 3:10 to Yuma, the trailer for The Double has finally arrived.
Sorry, the video is currently unavailable.
As you can see, the trailer seems to spoil much of the fun of The Double; indicating as it does that Richard Gere may in fact be the killer that he and Topher Grace are supposed to be tracking down. Then again, the film is called The Double so maybe the Russian spy has taken on Gere’s looks via surgery or a mask or something. I don’t know, I’m just hoping the trailer isn’t really as spoilerific as it seems.
The Double also stars Odette Annable (Breaking In, House), Castle star Stana Katic, Martin Sheen and True Blood‘s Steven Moyer.
The Double was shot last year in Detroit which ‘Doubled’ (Ha!) for Washington D.C, Russia, Switzerland and Paris. It will arrive in theaters on Friday, September 23rd.
