By now, Paul Rudd has ingrained himself into quite a span of comedy stables. He is a mainstay in the Apatow ensemble, appearing regularly alongside Will Ferrell, Steve Carell, Leslie Mann, Seth Rogen and Jason Segel in multiple films. He’s also a regular collaborator with the members of The State, particularly director David Wain, with whom he co-created the great and disappointingly short-run TV series Party Down. He has been featured on Amy Poehler’s Parks and Recreation and partnered up with Tina Fey in Admission. And this has come in addition to working previously with Baz Luhrmann on Romeo + Juliet and James L. Brooks as the lead in How Do You Know. Perhaps most enjoyably, the gif from the previous page is a result of his teaming up with Tim and Eric.
The result of his tendency to work rather consistently with quality people whom he knows and trusts has been a string of films successful either in popularity or critical reception, and an increasing status as one of the most reliable and likeable funnymen in the business today. Given that Paul Rudd shows no physical signs of aging, it’s basically a given that we will be enjoying the fruits of his weird humor for years to come, perhaps until the actual dawning of the Age of Aquarius.
