Whether it was through R.L. Stine’s popular and indeed extensive horror book series or via the camp television show of the same name, it’s almost inevitable that you experienced Goosebumps in some shape or form throughout the course of the 90s. Now, almost 22 years after the first novel hit the shelves, Sony is working on introducing the franchise to a modern day audience through a live-action film, and today we got our first look at some of the ghostly ghouls and malevolent clowns that will be making up the film’s roster of monsters.

The images, which you can feast your eyes on in the gallery below, include a colorful collection of baddies, and are exactly the brand of monsters that no doubt haunted your nightmares in your younger years — demonic clowns and reanimated mummies, to name but a few. And while we’re still a ways away from the film’s actual release, it’s nice to get a glimpse of the villains at this early stage in the game.

On the other hand, we know that Goosebumps will star Jack Black as R.L. Stine himself, while Dylan Minnette and Odeya Rush are set to play two lovestruck teenagers who happen across a plethora of things that go bump in the night.

Goosebumps is due to loom into theaters on March 23rd, 2016. In the meantime, be sure to check out the gallery below and let us know which villain is your favorite in the comments.

In Goosebumps, upset about moving from a big city to a small town, teenager Zach Cooper (Dylan Minnette) finds a silver lining when he meets the beautiful girl, Hannah (Odeya Rush), living right next door. But every silver lining has a cloud, and Zach’s comes when he learns that Hannah has a mysterious dad who is revealed to be R. L. Stine (Jack Black), the author of the bestselling Goosebumps series. It turns out that there is a reason why Stine is so strange… he is a prisoner of his own imagination – the monsters that his books made famous are real, and Stine protects his readers by keeping them locked up in their books.
