Tom Tykwer, Andy Wachowski and Lana Wachowski are set to bring us one of the most interesting films of the year with Cloud Atlas, set to hit theatres this month. The sci-fi drama is wildly ambitious and though it’s not getting the greatest reviews, it does have me very, very intrigued.
Starring Tom Hanks, Halle Berry, Jim Broadbent, Hugo Weaving, Jim Sturgess, Ben Whishaw, Susan Sarandon and Hugh Grant, the talent is definitely there. That, coupled with the involvement of the siblings who brought us The Matrix trilogy, is a winning combination in my books.
Through everything we’ve seen, from the trailer to these new images, this is one film that I’m super curious about. I love a good complex, challenging, thoughtful movie and Cloud Atlas looks to deliver just that.
Honestly, I’m sick of all the light, fluffy stuff that we’ve been seeing these days. I’m eager for something that is going to challenge me and give me some food for thought after I leave the theatre. Don’t you agree?
Cloud Atlas is set to open in US theatres on October 26th, 2012.
