Since its premiere at the SXSW Film Festival earlier this year, things have been pretty quiet surrounding the release of Jordan Robert‘s new film Frankie Go Boom, starring Charlie Hunnam, Chris O’Dowd and Ron Perlman. Today though, we have the first clip and a release date for the cross-dressing comedy.
For those of you unfamiliar with the film, the synopsis for Frankie Go Boom reads as follows.
“While trying to remove a compromising video from the Internet, two brothers (Charlie Hunnam and Chris O’Dowd) visit a brilliant computer hacker named Phil (Ron Perlman). But when they get there, they discover that Phil is now Phyllis and she has no intention of helping them for “free.”
The clip looks very funny and it will be great to see Hunnam and Perlam in a different setting than we’re used to seeing them in, which is on FX’s biker drama Sons Of Anarchy. Perlman looks absolutely hilarious and from what we’ve heard, he completely steals the film, which did get some rather positive reviews at the SXSW Film Festival.
We also know that the film will receive a VOD release on September 10th, 2012 and a U.S. theatrical release on October 12th, 2012.
How do you think Frankie Go Boom will compare to Sons Of Anarchy? And if you are a Sons Of Anarchy fan, will you be racing out to catch this one in theatres? Let us know in the comments.
