Post-Credits Scene Confirmed For Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2

Marvel is king when it comes to the post-credits scene. Though they weren't the first to do it, they've made it tremendously popular and nowadays, fans go into each and every release from the studio excited to see what they'll be teased with once the final credits have rolled. In the past, these scenes have primarily been used to give us glimpses of what the future holds in store for us as far as the Marvel Cinematic Universe goes, be it with new characters or setting up events to come.

Marvel is king when it comes to the post-credits scene. Though they weren’t the first to do it, they’ve made it tremendously popular and nowadays, fans go into each and every release from the studio excited to see what they’ll be teased with once the final credits have rolled. In the past, these scenes have primarily been used to give us glimpses of what the future holds in store for us as far as the Marvel Cinematic Universe goes, be it with new characters or setting up events to come.

Now, as we inch closer and closer to Avengers: Infinity War, the post-credits scene in each of Marvel’s upcoming releases will no doubt begin to lay the groundwork for the sure to be epic blockbuster, and that will all start with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, which arrives on May 5th. Taking to Twitter to answer a question from a fan, director James Gunn revealed that unless there’s some kind of emergency, you’ll probably want to stay in your seat right until the very end of the credits.

This isn’t surprising to hear, given what we just mentioned above, but it’s still nice to get confirmation from the director himself. Of course, he wouldn’t say what the scene would involve, but we imagine it will go some way in setting up the Guardians’ appearance in Infinity War, which arrives two years later, in May 2018. What Gunn also didn’t mention is if there would be a mid-credits scene as well, though given how big of a release this is, there will very likely be one. In other words, don’t leave your seat until the screen turns to black and the lights come up.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 blasts into theaters on May 5th, and if recent test screenings are any indication, it’s going to be one of the year’s very best films – and make a boatload of money for the studio.
