Pixar may have all hands at the pump in anticipation of The Good Dinosaur‘s release across North America in 2 weeks, but the animation giant has taken some time to stoke the embers of excitement for upcoming sequel Finding Dory.
Unveiling a new and simplistic poster for Andrew Stanton’s long-awaited follow-up, Pixar is primed to debut the first teaser trailer for the animation imminently, which opens with Ellen DeGeneres’ titular fish beginning to recall flickering memories that eluded her in the beloved 2003 original.
Indeed, while a full 13 years will have passed by the time Finding Dory just keeps swimming all the way into theaters, the studio’s much-anticipated feature will pick up a mere six months after the events of Finding Nemo.
At the core of the story once again, however, are Ellen DeGeneres and Albert Brooks as Dory and Marlin. Though they may have been at odds during the majority of Finding Nemo, Stanton’s 2003 flick closed out with the pair becoming best of friends after Dory helped Marlin rescue his wayward son, and we have a feeling that the latter pair will have to return the favor in some shape of form come next year.
Finding Dory has been slated for a release on June 17, 2016. In the meantime, you can feast your eyes on the deep blue sea with today’s all-new poster below, and be sure to check back soon for the sequel’s debut trailer.
