Dominic Cooper and Pierce Brosnan are teaming up for a new spy thriller titled November Man. Behind the camera will be Roger Donaldson and Michael Finch (co-writer of Predators) and Karl Gajdusek (Trespass) are in charge of scripting duties.
The film will be based on Bill Granger’s novel There Are No Spies and it will follow “an ex-CIA operative who is brought back in on a very personal mission and finds himself pitted against his former pupil in a deadly game involving high level CIA officials and the Russian president-elect.”
I’m always up for a good spy thriller and November Man seems promising. Cooper is an excellent young actor on the rise and I am still eagerly awaiting his much deserved move to the A-list. As for Brosnan, he’s always charming and enjoyable to watch on screen and he’s certainly proved himself in the spy thriller genre, has he not?
Furthermore, the novel boasts an exciting plot and Mr. Donaldson’s hands are usually quite capable, so all things considered I’m looking forward to the film. I’m not expecting it to be anything like Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy but I do see it being a breezy, enjoyable spy thriller that should be worth the price of admission.
Production will start in October and a 2013 release date is likely.
