With a smile and that signature bowtie in tow, Netflix has premiered the latest trailer for Paul Reubens’ feature film Pee-Wee’s Big Holiday, which is now on course to debut on the streaming platform on March 18.
That’s right, Pee-Wee Herman is ready to spread his wings by going on his first-ever vacation, and it’s one that promises thrills and spills aplenty. In today’s all-too-brief teaser, we see the iconic character wake up and prepare for a new day in a way that would make Wallace and Gromit proud. But that’s just the start, according to the official synopsis (see below), Big Holiday will push our protagonist beyond the four walls of his eccentric abode, one brimming with nine kinds of gadgets and gizmos, after a fleeting encounter with a mysterious stranger.
Beyond that, plot details are being kept under wraps for now. What we do know is that Pee-Wee’s Big Holiday will have its work cut out to make a lasting first impression now that it’s been set to air opposite Daredevil season 2. Truth be told, it’s tailored for an entirely different audience, and we’re intrigued to see how Netflix’s latest original feature is received by fans and critics.
