Variety is reporting that the wet dreams of moviegoers everywhere have just come true. Paul Giamatti has joined the already star studded cast of Steve McQueen‘s upcoming film, 12 Years A Slave.
The Shame and Hunger director is looking to deliver an excellent third effort with his upcoming film. He’s assembled quite a cast, which boasts names like Chiwetel Ejiofor, Michael Fassbender, Benedict Cumberbatch, Brad Pitt, Paul Dano and Scoot McNairy. Like I said, a moviegoers’ wet dream.
In addition to Giamatti, we also learnt today that Sarah Paulson and Garret Dillahunt will hop on board.
So let’s recap, McQueen is behind the camera and he’ll be directing talent like Michael Fassbender, Brad Pitt and Paul Giamatti, along with a superb supporting cast. On top of all that, the film is based on Solomon Northup’s biography, which tells of his live as a slave.
For a longer description, check out the plot summary below.
12 Years A Slave tells the story of how two men approached Northup under the guise of circus promoters who were interested in his violin skills. They offered him a generous but fair amount of money to work for their circus, and then offered to put him up in a hotel in Washington D.C. Upon arriving there he was drugged, bound, and moved to a slave pen in the city owned by a man named James Burch, which was located in the Yellow House, which was one of several sites where African Americans were sold on the National Mall in DC.
So, moviegoers’ wet dream or not? What do you think?
