Nearly six months after its big theatrical release, M3GAN is already switching streaming platforms to become available to a new group of horror fans. The movie, which was earlier available to stream on Peacock, is now heading to Prime Video.
The viewers, however, are only required to pay an added sum if they wish to see the unrated cut which raises the question; how violent is the film exactly? M3GAN was censored enough to make it suitable for a PG-13 theatrical release, where a diverse audience could unflinchingly lay their eyes on the AI doll’s gruesome acts of violence. Of course, the unrated cut promises much more than that, as folks will now be treated to added blood, gore, and slaughters throughout the run.
M3GAN succeeded in acquiring instant cult status ever since its release for expertly tying the concept of horror with some of the weighty themes like grief, loneliness, and parentage, to name a few. Together, they combined to produce a comedic effect that further added to its popularity.
This, combined with a gripping storyline and an outstanding performance by a star-studded cast featuring Allison Williams, Violet McGraw, and Amie Donald, massively contributed to its success and a high box office revenue. That being said, the movie’s relocation will surely reignite its popularity and attract more viewers into investing in this horror masterpiece.
