Latino Review is at it again. Known for delivering scoops and rumors that usually turn out to be accurate, this time the website is reporting that various sources close to Star Wars: Episode VII are saying that Ewan McGregor is set to return as Obi-Wan Kenobi. Though the studio hasn’t officially commented on this yet, it does make sense.
We know that the actor is down to reprise his role, as he told Digital Spy in an interview last year that he’d be willing to do it if they needed him.
“I guess, yeah, of course,” McGregor said. “If they need me, yeah, I’d be happy [to go back].”
Furthermore, Latino Review is saying that McGregor would return as a force ghost, which again makes sense and is also how they think Emperor Palpatine will return.
Now, what’s even more interesting about this is that not only will McGregor return for Star Wars: Episode VII, but he’s also hoping to get a standalone film for the character, which would definitely be cool.
Keep in mind, this could all be false and may turn out to be nothing more than another crazy Star Wars rumor, but like I said before, Latino Review is usually pretty good with this stuff and if they’re reporting that it’s true, then there’s a good chance that it is. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see though.
