Though the Four Horsemen’s repository of illusions and tricks are often much more intricate and complex, a standard deck of cards has and always will be an iconic companion to any magician. Bringing the gang together, today’s all-new poster for Now You See Me 2 upholds that tradition by placing its leading players in a house of cards.
Questionable Photoshop aside, those Four Horsemen will comprise the familiar faces of Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson and Dave Franco, along with new recruit Lizzy Caplan as fresh-faced trickster, Lula. Making a triumphant return to the stage following a year-long absence, the group are soon foiled by the brilliant mind of Walter Mabry, son of Michael Caine’s corrupt insurance magnate and played by newcomer Daniel Radcliffe.
Jon M. Chu is the director behind the lens, and only yesterday we caught wind of Lionsgate’s plans to push ahead with Now You See Me 3, which Chu will also helm. Details for the threequel remain under lock and key for the time being, but a successful turn at the box office in June coupled with the return of Eisenberg and Co. will ensure NYSM3 is a done deal.
Now You See Me 2 will whip up a spell or two when Jon M. Chu’s magical sequel appears in theaters on June 10. For now, you can check out the new one-sheet, below.
The Four Horsemen return for a second mind-bending adventure, elevating the limits of stage illusion to new heights and taking them around the globe. One year after outwitting the FBI and winning the public’s adulation with their Robin Hood-style magic spectacles, the illusionists resurface for a comeback performance in hopes of exposing the unethical practices of a tech magnate. The man behind their vanishing act is none other than Walter Mabry, a tech prodigy who threatens the Horsemen into pulling off their most impossible heist yet. Their only hope is to perform one last unprecedented stunt to clear their names and reveal the mastermind behind it all.
