Having dusted themselves off from one crime caper, the elusive Four Horsemen are preparing to take the world by storm once more for Now You See Me 2.
Pegged for a primetime release in mid-June, Lionsgate’s band of illusionists – in keeping with their Robin Hood M.O. – emerge from hiding to stage a comeback act that plans to expose a power-mongering tech conglomerate. Pulling the strings behind their reappearance is newcomer Daniel Radcliffe, who steps into the shoes of tech prodigy Walter Mabry for Jon M. Chu’s caper thriller.
Radcliffe is among the stars featured in today’s gallery of character posters – arriving by way of EW, InStyle, Den of Geek and People – where the returning Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson and Dave Franco star as the Four Horsemen. Replacing Isla Fisher for The Second Act is Lizzy Caplan, though it’s unclear as of yet if her joining the devious power group in place of Fisher will filter into the plot.
Also back for another bout of magical mayhem are Morgan Freeman and Michael Caine, the latter of which plays Arthur Tressler, the father to Radcliffe’s nefarious trickster.
Lionsgate and Summit Entertainment are set to unleash Now You See Me: The Second Act into theaters on June 10, 2016.
The Four Horsemen return for a second mind-bending adventure, elevating the limits of stage illusion to new heights and taking them around the globe. One year after outwitting the FBI and winning the public’s adulation with their Robin Hood-style magic spectacles, the illusionists resurface for a comeback performance in hopes of exposing the unethical practices of a tech magnate. The man behind their vanishing act is none other than Walter Mabry, a tech prodigy who threatens the Horsemen into pulling off their most impossible heist yet. Their only hope is to perform one last unprecedented stunt to clear their names and reveal the mastermind behind it all.
