Though Star Wars: Episode IX is already juggling quite a few familiar characters – from Sequel Trilogy regulars, to returning players like Lando Calrissian – the film is also set to bring a fresh helping of franchise newcomers into the saga. And while Lucasfilm has shared virtually no info on any of their newest arrivals, a report on Reddit claims to have a few details on the roles of Keri Russell and Naomi Ackie.

First, let’s look at Russell. Though the Americans star has been the subject of a whole load of fan theories alleging she’s everything from Rey’s mother to Luke Skywalker’s wife, user JediPaxis claims to have a “trusted source” that says she’s playing a bounty hunter whose allegiance remains unclear. The report goes on to describe her purple jumpsuit and “bronze/gold accessories, including an elongated helmet.” Moreover, the source apparently likened the character’s design to Zam Wesell from Attack of the Clones, only “fancier.”

As for Ackie, the source allegedly made the bold claim that the Lady Macbeth actress is playing Finn’s sister. Interestingly, the report itself stresses that this assertion should be taken “with a grain of salt until other sources can corroborate this particular bit of information,” and we’d surely advise the same. Funnily enough, a fan theory emerged last month that Finn was actually Lando’s son, and if the previous rumor that Ackie is playing Lando’s daughter Vera turns out to be true, then it seems we just might have a whole Calrissian family on our hands.

Of course, it’s all just hearsay and speculation for the time being, but we’ll get some answers when Star Wars: Episode IX hits theaters on December 20th, 2019.
