Netflix Is Adding Tons Of Great Horror Movies In January

Netflix has detailed all of the many movies and TV shows headed to the platform in 2020, including Sam Raimi classic The Evil Dead.

Tremors Cold Day In Hell

Another month, another smattering of new Netflix titles to sift through. And it seems the online streamer is kicking off 2020 with a host of juicy horror movies and TV shows.

First thing’s first: there’s a number of big-name titles leaving the service next month, including Panic Room, Grease, American Pyscho, and the Spartacus series. That’s disappointing, to be sure, but among the January 2020 titles are news installments of Grace and Frankie and The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, along with all three Lord of the Rings movies and the Kill Bill films. And it doesn’t stop there.

We’ve compiled the full list below, but a special mention must go to two particularly exciting horror additions: Sam Raimi classic The Evil Dead and Tremors.

The Circle (Netflix Original): Reality series where contestants catfish each other and communicate through a so-called digital “circle” in order to win cash prizes. Starts Jan. 1, with new episodes arriving the next two Wednesdays.

Netflix

You’ll also notice that there’s a great deal of original content incoming. From the horror-tinged Ares to season 2 of Sex Education to the deliciously dark reboot of Sabrina (now entering season 3, 2020 sees everyone’s favorite teenage witch attempt to save her one true love from the underworld), Netflix is pulling out all the stops.

And just as well, too, given the streaming market has become increasingly crowded ever since the launch of Disney+ – and with it, a slew of Marvel, Star Wars and Pixar content that Netflix can’t possibly hope to match. Nevertheless, as you’ll see below, there’s an incredible mix of old favorites (The Evil Dead) and exciting new dramas (Ares) vying for your attention.
