Another one bites the streaming dust.

The ever-growing landscape of reality TV continues to electrify folks who gravitate towards that intriguing sub-genre. However, with Netflix’s recent trend of putting the proverbial dagger through the hearts of many television series, reality TV fans that eat that specific content up like hotcakes will be disappointed to learn that Netflix has abruptly canceled Snowflake Mountain after just one season.

As per Deadline, the interactive series has apparently been canned by the streaming service after first premiering on the platform in July 2022. As it stands, the series was reportedly canceled due to low viewership. The lack of streaming success likely resulted in numbers that Netflix simply wasn’t pleased with, leading the platform to give the series the ax.

Like with most reality shows, the aforementioned series centered around a group of people who are forced to face insane obstacles and difficult situations — which include testing their survival skills, general intelligence, and wilderness instincts. But unlike ever-popular series such as Naked and Afraid, I’m a Celebrity, and Too Hot to Handle, it appears as though Snowflake Mountain just couldn’t keep up.

Of course, with the series including the “snowflake” phrase — which is typically utilized as a way to insult millennials and the “wokeness” of younger people — it hardly comes as a major surprise that the show was chock-full of content that just didn’t stick with viewers. As for now, it’s worth waiting to see if Netflix replaces the series with another head-scratching reality venture — given the ever-present popularity of the genre.
