Some critics describe the film as tedious and blame the lethargic humor on screenwriter James Vanderbilt.

Others made theatrical demands for a refund from the stars of the film.

According to another critic, the film has immense pizazz but fails to deliver as an intriguing whodunnit.

One critic did not mince words about his opinion of the film, calling it an unambiguous flop.

However, it wasn’t all bad news for Murder Mystery 2 among film critics. Some critics weren’t expecting a cinematic masterpiece and thought the film was a delight.

Others enjoyed the levity of the sequel and found the lighthearted gags amusing.

Opinions of the film seemed to come down to viewer expectations, as many found its silliness endearing.
