It’s been roughly three weeks now since Avengers: Infinity War made its historic debut, and it’s fair to say that the Marvel epic has left its mark on the global box office.
At a whopping $1.71 billion and counting – a figure that’s higher than even Jurassic World‘s own record gross – Infinity War has blazed past one financial milestone after another on its path to immortality, where it now joins the likes of Avatar, Titanic and Star Wars: The Force Awakens in Hollywood’s box office pantheon.
But enough talk about money; we’re now approaching the point where the event movie to end all event movies is going to begin turning its attention towards its home video release, as its box office run starts to wind down. Granted, it’ll still be in theaters for a while yet, but Marvel now has their eye on the next step of the journey and today, they’ve announced that Avengers: Infinity War will hit Digital and 4K UHD on July 31st, with iTunes now taking pre-orders.
Unfortunately, there’s been no word on when we may see the film released on Blu-ray, but given that the usual pattern is two weeks or so after Digital, a mid-August debut looks likely. That’d match up with what’s been rumored as well. We’re also left in the dark as to what kind of bonus features we can expect to see, but we imagine there will be quite a lot included for fans to dig into.
Though it’ll likely vacate the box office throne this weekend due to the release of Deadpool 2, at $1.71 billion, Avengers: Infinity War is still a force to be reckoned with, and we’ll be bringing you all the latest updates on its journey to Digital/Blu-ray as Marvel begins to reveal more.
