While it’s supposed to be the job of the Marvel Prelude comics to provide a little context to each upcoming release, there’s surely only so much that these accompanying stories would be allowed to give away before Marvel Studios drops its big reveals. That’s one reason why the impending launch of the Prelude series for Avengers 4 has been taken as yet further evidence that the film’s trailer will be coming out before the end of this month.
To elaborate, the release date for the first issue of this comic has now been announced for December 5th, and since it would be unusual for the Prelude to come out before the teaser, some fans are interpreting this as another sign that we’ll be getting some footage from the Avengers: Infinity War sequel in the next couple of weeks.
Even without this latest development, it’s been a popular prediction that the first Avengers 4 trailer will be dropping on the week beginning November 26th, with one rumor alleging that the promo is set to premiere during Monday Night Football. Alternatively, with the latest Dumbo trailer coming out a little sooner than expected, there’s even been some speculation that the Marvel teaser will be arriving next week. Either way, it’s pretty clear that most of the internet isn’t buying Joe Russo’s tease that we might have to wait until 2019 for the footage to drop.
Between the comic and the seemingly imminent trailer, it certainly feels like Avengers 4 will be looking a fair bit less mysterious in a few weeks from now, though we’ve no doubt that Marvel Studios is saving most of their answers for when the film itself comes out on May 3rd, 2019.
