Mark Strong Will Play The Imitation Game With Benedict Cumberbatch

Benedict Cumberbatch is amongst the hottest things in Hollywood right now. Seriously, the man is on one hell of a role, and deservedly so. He's a tremendous actor and one who is finally getting the recognition and praise that he should have been seeing years ago. The actor has several projects in the works right now but one of the most interesting is The Imitation Game, coming to us from Headhunters director Morten Tyldum.

Benedict Cumberbatch is amongst the hottest things in Hollywood right now. Seriously, the man is on one hell of a role, and deservedly so. He’s a tremendous talent and one who is finally getting the recognition and praise that he should have been seeing years ago.

The actor has several projects in the works currently but one of the most interesting ones is The Imitation Game, coming to us from Headhunters director Morten Tyldum. In the film, Cumberbatch will play Alan Turing, a computer genius who cracked the Axis forces’ Enigma Code during World War II. Unfortunately, he later took his life due to the way that he was treated for being a homosexual.

Co-starring are Keira Knightley and Matthew Goode and today, another actor has joined the project: Mark Strong, who worked with Cumberbatch on Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy. No word on his role just yet but Strong is a dependable actor who is hard to go wrong with. Additionally, we’re hearing that composer Clint Mansell has also hopped on board and that editor William Goldenberg will cut the film.

Likely to hit theatres sometime in 2014, The Imitation Game is brimming with potential. Not only is the script straight from Hollywood’s Black List, but Turing’s story sounds like one that would make for an excellent film. With Cumberbatch set to headline, and a very solid supporting cast at his side, I can definitely see this one being an awards contender come next year.
