In a time when Hollywood is dominated by movie franchises, it’s still surprising to hear that a sequel is being developed for a raunchy comedy like Magic Mike, as it always seemed like something that was a done-in-one deal. The film is doing well right now financially and critically, and there are even plans for it to make its way to Broadway. But does it deserve a sequel?
Well, according to First Showing, the film’s star Channing Tatum certainly seems to think so:
“Yes, yes and yes! We’re working on the concept now. We want to flip the script and make it bigger.”
I don’t know exactly how they’d go about making it bigger, but it sounds like it could be interesting. I wonder though if Steven Soderbergh would return to direct and if we’ll see some new faces in the cast. More importantly, will this be in 3D?
