Originally dated for October 2015, Gramercy Pictures had already pushed bombastic action sequel London Has Fallen back into early 2016, and today the studio has confirmed that Gerard Butler’s Mike Banning won’t be dispatched for his mission in the English capital until March 4, 2016.

Reprising his role as the highly skilled and ruthless Secret Service agent, Butler’s sophomore outing will have his agent, as the title suggest, make the jump across the pond to thwart a new terrorist attack. When the British Prime Minister falls, it isn’t long before the city follows suit, as the enemies look to captialize on all of the world leader’s coming together in the worst way imaginable.

Keen to retain the same roster as 2013’s sleeper hit Olympus Has Fallen, director Babak Najafi’s has ensrued that Robert Forster returns as General Edward Clegg, while Sean O’Bryan and Radha Mitchell are also on board to reprise their roles. In terms of newcomers, the Najafi (Snabba Cash II) has recruited Jackie Earle Haley, Alon Aboutboul, Charlotte Riley, and Waleed Zuaiter for the thriller sequel.

London Has Fallen will now open on March 4, 2016 – you know, presuming there’s no further delays to production. For now, you can check out the logline for Gerard Butler’s trip across the pond down below.

The story begins in London, where the British Prime Minister has passed away under mysterious circumstances. His funeral is a must-attend event for leaders of the western world. However, what starts out as the most protected event on Earth turns into a deadly plot to kill the world’s most powerful leaders, devastate every known landmark in the British capital, and unleash a terrifying vision of the future. Only three people have any hope of stopping it: the President of the United States, his formidable Secret Service head (Butler), and an English MI-6 agent who rightly trusts no one.
