With a full, and really rather impressive, cast now in tow, Lionsgate has premiered the official logo for Saban’s Power Rangers movie, the live-action feature film headed to the big screen in early 2017.

Vancouver is currently playing host to the studio’s movie adaptation of the beloved superhero series – first hatched by Saban Entertainment in 1993 – where RJ Cyler, Becky G, Ludi Lin, Naomi Scott and Dacre Montgomery are donning those iconic color-coded outfits as the titular teens.

Angel Grove, beckons, and Dean Israelite is the director bringing the Rangers to life. Also on board for the superhero origins tale are Pitch Perfect‘s Elizabeth Banks as Rita Repulsa, the infamous alien villain that develops a seemingly insatiable appetite for intergalactic destruction, and David Denman. Best known for roles across Michael Bay’s 13 Hours and The Gift, Denman joined the starry cast late last month as Sam Scott, father to Jason Scott AKA the Red Ranger.

Among the producing team are Haim Saban of Saban Films – who reclaimed the Power Rangers rights from Disney six years ago – alongside both Brian Casentini and Allison Shearmur.

The fate of the planet hangs in the balance, and there’s only one crack team of high school kids that harbor the power to save it. Yes, Power Rangers makes a beeline for the big screen and, potentially, jump-starts a new franchise at Lionsgate when Israelite’s actioner makes its bow on March 24, 2017.
