Leaked Trailer For David Fincher’s The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo

We reported last week that a number of countries overseas were already seeing a trailer for David Fincher's The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. The US was supposed to get the trailer next week but now it looks like it has leaked early. Being a leaked trailer, the quality is pretty crummy but wow does it look good. Eyeing a December 21st release, the all star cast includes Rooney Mara, Daniel Craig, Christopher Plummer, Stellan Skarsgard and Robin Wright. Of course, the film is based off the Swedish original, which is based off the novel by Stieg Larsson.

We reported last week that a number of countries overseas were already seeing a trailer for David Fincher‘s The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. The US was supposed to get the trailer next week but now it looks like it has leaked early. Being a leaked trailer, the quality is pretty crummy but wow does it look good.

It looks like they’ve perfectly captured the harsh and threatening atmosphere of the novel and Fincher looks like he’s aiming for mood and imagery here, and it looks like he’s done well on both counts.

The trailer doesn’t give too much away regarding the story but considering the novels have sold 50 million copies in 46 countries, I don’t think Fincher really has to hammer the story home in the trailer. Instead he focuses on setting a specific tone for the film and the trailer succeeds in that.

I’m hoping for a real dark and faithful film from Fincher and thus far, it looks like that’s what we’re going to get. The tone looks pretty grim and this could and likely will be Fincher’s darkest film since Se7en. I think I can safely speak for most moviegoers when I say that this film just shot up my list of most anticipated.

Eyeing a December 21st release, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo stars Rooney Mara, Daniel Craig, Christopher Plummer, Stellan Skarsgard and Robin Wright. Of course, the film is an adaptation of the Swedish original, which is based off the novel by Stieg Larsson.

Apologies if the trailer gets pulled but a better quality/official version will be out next week.
