In anticipation of the 50th anniversary of David Lean’s masterpiece Lawrence of Arabia, the film is being brought back to theaters for just one night before its Blu-Ray release later this year. That’s right, one night only, so mark October 4th on your calendar as a very important date, for it will be your one chance to see this beautiful film on the big screen in a new 4K restoration.
Today, thanks to The Film Stage, we have a trailer promoting this restoration, and while no trailer on a tiny computer screen can even begin to do justice to Lean’s epic, is does a decent job of showing you the scope of the story.
If you are somehow unfamiliar with this film, first off, shame on you, second, it tells the story of T.E. Lawrence, who united the Arab tribes against the Turks during World War I.
This remains one of my favorite films of all time and has been one that I’ve been dying to see on the big screen ever since I saw it for the first time many years ago, so I’ll definitely be there for its one-night resurrection at the cinema, ready once again to bask in the majesty of this amazing epic.
Just in case you missed it above, that date again is October 4th.
