When it comes to finally giving Marvel fans what they’ve been waiting years for, this week is sure delivering. First, we got our first glimpse at Hugh Jackman in the yellow and blue as Wolverine on set of Deadpool 3, a reason to celebrate which is nonetheless inspiring those more hypochondriac fans out there to fear for the MCU’s future. Second, James Gunn has belatedly told us all we’ve been wanting to know about certain Guardians of the Galaxy members for the past decade. Allow me to explain…
As Deadpool 3 sends hype heavenwards, some fear Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine will be bad for the MCU
With the more Deadpool 3 leaks that arrive, the more everyone is getting hyped for both Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman to enter the MCU. And yet, a more pessimistic point-of-view is arguing that what if the threequel, which is delivering exactly what we’re all asking for, could act to the detriment of the franchise in the long-run? Basically, will Deadpool 3 be so satisfying and fan-pleasing that it will make it impossible for the MCU to introduce a new Wolverine and company at a later date? It’s actually a worthwhile point to consider, but no one tell Kevin Feige, as it’s far too late for him to change his strategy now.
A real-life Loki character may have gone and blown Deadpool 3‘s big secret
No, not a Loki cast member, although Owen Wilson has teased what we can expect from Mobius’ backstory in season two. An actual Loki character who might be way too active on social media has tweeted out something that, going by what we know about the movie from leaks, may just spoil some specific plot details from Deadpool 3. You’ve got it, the culprit in question is Miss Minutes, and something tells me her boss at the TVA, Kang the Conqueror, will not be pleased with her spilling the Sacred Timeline’s secrets.
James Gunn shares a new Marvel short story that tells you everything you wanted to know about Groot and Rocket
I guess now that James Gunn has jumped ship from Marvel to DC he’s happy to dump all his unused MCU ideas online. You see, the new DC chief has gone and shared a breakdown of a Guardians of the Galaxy short film that he never ended up making that would’ve finally explained everything about how Groot and Rocket met. The all-important origins of the loveable duo was sadly not explored in Guardians 3, but now we have the actual, canonical answer to this mystery we’ve been chewing over for nine years. It’s just tragic we most probably won’t ever see it realized on screen.
More Marvel news updates will be here as quickly as nitpicky fans “fixed” Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine costume, so don’t go anywhere.
