So, before you begin heavily researching and pre-planning what your Halloween costume will be this year, be sure to feast your eyes on the latest updates in the spooky realm.
Even the most nonsensical horror features can become bonafide cult classics
It’s certainly common knowledge that the horror genre is crawling with an overabundance of cheesy cult classics, which reminds all of us why we’re fascinated by the catalog in the first place. And while some underground classics are more familiar than others, indie sensation Brotherhood of the Wolf is perhaps the wildest cult classic of them all. Horror fanatics on Reddit are in total agreement, of course, with many folks commending the film’s variety of elements — all of which somehow work and made the film a respected piece of art.
Nic Cage fans are in for an intriguing treat thanks to Renfield
If the early reviews are anything to go off of, then it’s safe to say that Nic Cage fans will be deliciously surprised by how fantastic horror-comedy extravaganza Renfield already sounds. According to the first reviews, Renfield delivers a beautiful blend of comedy and terror as the titular R. M. Renfield is forced to come face-to-face with Count Dracula and his obviously hurtful antics. Luckily for horror fans, they won’t have to wait much longer — with the film releasing in theaters in just two weeks’ time.
A24 being attached to an upcoming horror series is causing more concern than its plot
By now, Friday the 13th die-hards are familiar with Crystal Lake — an upcoming Peacock series that will serve as a prequel to the events of the popular Friday the 13th lore. And while it’s to be expected that many folks are confused about just what exactly the series will focus on, apparently having A24 attached to the project is surprisingly causing the most concern. Seems like a silly thing to be concerned about, but considering A24’s decorated past, Crystal Lake will likely be in safe hands.
