We’re literally one day away from getting the first fan-reactions for The Flash, and Warner Brothers keeps sweetening the deal by gifting fans more stills and promo-art ahead of release. The most recent image has the DC fandom divided — as usual — with some fans furious over the obvious post processing touch ups, and others questioning if their counterparts believe that Sasha Calle can actually fly. Meanwhile, fans that dreamed of Jude Law bringing Superman to life in the upcoming Legacy felt their wish dashed upon the rocky shores of reality. In an interview on The Colbert Report from the mid-2010s, Law admitted that he has never been interested in playing the Man of Steel, and honestly, we can’t argue with the reasoning.
The Flash drops new promo images and fans are less than impressed
Ahead of The Flash’s premier Warner Bros. is steadily unveiling snapshots and trailers to whet fan’s appetites, though most of these attempts are turning out to be double-edged swords. A recent still of Supergirl flanked by two Barrys has divided the internet. While some users roasted the image for looking like something from a video game, their counterparts voiced incredulity over the expectation of “reality” in a movie about colliding timelines and super-powered people. It’s hard to deny the incredibly CGI look of the still, but — when it comes to comic book movies — it not unusual for a film to look like an AI painting.
With its first fan-screening just hours away, first opinions on The Flash set to role in
By tomorrow, the fears that fans feel creeping with every promo misfire will be assuaged. Later this evening a select few fans will get the highest privilege of viewing The Flash seven weeks before the rest of the world. DC is so sure of the film that the studio is lifting the embargo moments after the screening comes to a close, allowing viewers to shout about their take aways as soon as possible. With all the strife around the final cut of the film, we know we’re looking forward to all of the takeaways and are dying to find out what has made so many people claim that The Flash is going to be one of the best superhero movies of all time.
Jude Law has no intention of ever joining the DCEU (as Superman)
In the wake of James Gunn’s DCEU reconstruction, fans are desperately trying to find the actor they most want to embody The Last Son of Krypton. While his name frequently pops up on fan wish lists, Jude Law admitted to Steven Colbert back in 2016 that he just can’t see himself as the classic superhero. The actor made the decision years ago, when he was approached to helm the now defunct Superman: Flyby. Law said that he even got to try on the iconic blue and red costume, but as he gazed at himself in the mirror, he felt that he, “just didn’t fancy it.” His tenure as the Man of Steel lasted all of two minutes, but that was more than enough for the Brit to realize that the role just wasn’t for him. He told Colbert, “I’m an Englishman and I felt like, I don’t know, it just didn’t seem to fit.” His whole interview is worth the read due to the surreal nature of the extreme secrecy that goes into something like this, and of course the classic dry humor of an Englishman.
