One of the most prominent theories bandied about in the lead up to the film’s release had to do with none other than Norman Osborn, arguably The Joker to Spidey’s Batman. Reports had it that while this most notorious of spider-villains wasn’t set to physically appear, the company that he headed, Oscorp, would.

Specifically, it was thought that the former Avengers Tower, which was in the midst of being sold and renovated during the events of Spider-Man: Homecoming, would re-debut as the headquarters for the Osborn clan’s global conglomerate.

Now, this rumor turned out to be nothing more than just that, but during a recent interview, Marvel Studios CEO Kevin Feige joked about it, saying: “I don’t think they put the sign up.”

He would go on to speak about the proliferation of online speculation regarding the MCU’s final Phase 3 film, and blockbuster filmmaking as a whole, stating:

“I always think the speculation fuels it, whether that speculation is correct, as it sometimes is, or if that speculation is wrong, as it often is. But how awesome is it seeing him swing around at the end of that movie, and with the web wings glide through an under-construction version of Avengers Tower?”

It seems that mystery of who bought Avengers Tower isn’t going to be revealed until some point in Phase 4. Until then, fans will just have to continue to venture wild and crazy guesses.

Spider-Man: Far From Home is now playing in theaters.
