The third outing in John Wick‘s globetrotting adventure, aptly titled Parabellum, is nearly here, and we couldn’t be more excited about it.
Though many believe that the end is nigh for Keanu Reeves’ beloved action hero, Chapter 3 may well turn out to be the end of the beginning, rather than the beginning of the end, so to speak. Or at least, that’s what Ian McShane, star of American Gods and the recently-released (and critically panned) Hellboy reboot, thinks.
The actor told Collider recently that he believes the John Wick series has enough mileage to continue for another decade – if not longer. And it seems he’s not the only one who feels that way, either. Reeves himself is also of the same mind, revealing to GQ in a recent interview that he’ll continue to play the character for as long as the fans want him to.
“As far as my legs can take me. As far as the audience wants to go,” said the actor when asked how long he wants to remain in the role for.
Of course, age is a factor here as Reeves is already 54, but it’s nice to hear that he’s so committed to the role regardless. As for where we’ll find the character next, well, from what we know, John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum will see the titular killer having to turn tail and run.
He’s excommunicado, you see, meaning he’s more or less been cut off from the criminal underworld and all of its various resources. If that wasn’t bad enough, a $14 million bounty has also been placed on him, which is to say that Wick’s really been painted into a corner this time around. Then again, this is John Wick we’re talking about here…
After two stylish and exhilarating movies, the John Wick franchise is now entering summer blockbuster territory, as Chapter 3 – Parabellum has been set for a May 16th release. Tick tock, Mr. Wick, the world’s most deadly assassins are now on your tail.
