Keanu Reeves has been on fire recently, and we couldn’t be happier to see him enjoying the Hollywood comeback he deserves. Even amidst his renewed success, he’s remained humble through it all, which probably explains why his fanbase appreciates his down-to-earth personality. This recent career uptick, which many have dubbed the “Keanuaissance,” kicked off with his leading role in 2014’s John Wick, which eventually snowballed into plenty of other gigs and opportunities.
This year alone, he’s made appearances in Netflix’s Always Be My Maybe (a rather funny and cute rom-com), as well as Pixar’s Toy Story 4, which hits theaters tomorrow. Still, his biggest big screen role in 2019 has to be John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum and in 2020, he’s set to star not only in Bill & Ted Face The Music, but he’ll also play a major part in Cyberpunk 2077, the newest RPG from Polish developer CD Projekt Red.
Of course, a lot of fans have been wondering when (or if) he’ll eventually make an appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. As we recently reported, Kevin Feige shed some light on the matter, explaining that he and his team regularly reach out to Keanu, in an attempt to find him a perfect role. And though it hasn’t happened just yet, plenty of talented individuals have been whipping up fan art imagining him in the franchise and a new piece courtesy of Reddit depicts Keanu as Adam Warlock.
Interestingly, that particular Marvel character is set to appear in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, and while there’s no solid casting news as of yet, some rumors indicate that Zac Efron is being considered. Personally, I don’t particularly have a preference as to what role Keanu Reeves takes within the MCU, though I wouldn’t be opposed to seeing him alongside Chris Pratt and Hemsworth as they travel across the galaxy.
What about you, though? Do you think The Matrix star should play Adam Warlock? As always, sound off down below with your thoughts.
