Those cunning folk over at Lionsgate have kept Katniss’s loyal devotees hanging by a thread all week with the prospect of brand new footage from The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1. It’s expected, as this type of carrot-dangling is in line with all of the latest marketing campaigns. After all, we’ve already seen teaser trailers, the full trailer, one sheets and character posters. Heck, the other day I even saw a cloud in the shape of Donald Sutherland. I’m not quite sure how they managed that feat of genius, but nevertheless, it stoked my curiosity and now luckily we’ve got a whole minute of new footage to enjoy courtesy of The Hunger Games Twitter.
When all is lost, courage is found. WATCH Katniss return to District 12 in this new preview of #Mockingjay Part 1! https://t.co/WOUj0NO9Vg

Mockingjay – Part 1 will serve as the first film in a two part ending chapter, picking up where Catching Fire left off. This time around, Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) spreads her wings as she attempts to restore some semblance of order to the utter chaos that is Panem. This little trailer-clip follows a wordless Katniss as she meanders through a ruined District 12, all the while a haunting coda repeats over and over. It’s pretty bleak to be honest, which ought to be a good indication that maybe we’ll be in line for a grittier, darker sequel.
