At this stage, more than seven months after Justice League first hit theaters, the fabled Zack Snyder cut has been the subject of such intense scrutiny and debate that it’s truly a wonder anyone can keep up.
Last we reported, rumor had it that Snyder was working on completing his cut of the film in secret, which actually aligns with previous rumors that Warner Bros. would allow the director to revisit his incomplete DC epic so long as his production company, Cruel and Unusual Films, foots the bill. Things then began to really snowball when DCEU storyboard artist Jay Olivia (Batman V Superman) announced that Snyder’s cut was shot in its entirety, as the filmmaker tends to map things out in advance so that it’s “all planned out meticulously from beginning to end.”
Taking all that into consideration, it’s no wonder that the movie has been linked with an appearance at San Diego Comic-Con this week. And while it still remains to be seen if the pic, or its original director will be in attendance, we’ve now got more fuel to add to the fire.
It could mean nothing at all, but Snyder took to Vero the other day to share that he’s currently at Hotel del Coronado, which just so happens to be seven miles away from the San Diego Convention Center, the annual site of San Diego Comic-Con. It could be mere coincidence and perhaps we’re reading too much into what may be a totally innocent post, but the timing seems a bit suspicious, wouldn’t you say?
Of course, even if he is going to be at SDCC, it doesn’t necessarily mean his presence there will have anything to do with Justice League. After all, Snyder has producer credits on both Aquaman and Wonder Woman 1984, so he could be attending for either of those pics. For now, we’ll just have to wait and see, but if one thing’s for certain, it’s that Warner Bros.’ panel this coming Saturday is going to be very, very exciting.
