Josh Trank Takes On Fantastic Four, David Slade Pulls Out Of Daredevil

FOX has confirmed longstanding rumors that Josh Trank (Chronicle) will helm the project upcoming Fantastic Four reboot, which will feature a brand new set of actors taking on the iconic characters. Although, it might be a little hard to replace Chris Evan's version of Johnny Storm as, in my mind at least, he did the character justice.

There’s good news coming from Comic-Con today for Fantastic Four fans.

FOX has confirmed longstanding rumors that Josh Trank (Chronicle) will helm the project upcoming Fantastic Four reboot, which will feature a brand new set of actors taking on the iconic characters. Although, it might be a little hard to replace Chris Evan‘s version of Johnny Storm as, in my mind at least, he did the character justice.

Not all the news coming out of FOX is quite so peachy though. David Slade has pulled out of the Daredevil reboot due to scheduling conflicts. He will instead be focusing on the series Hannibal, a television series adaptation of Silence of the Lambs.

The Twilight Saga: Eclipse director is leaving the studio in kind of a pickle. If they don’t find a director soon and green light the project shortly, they risk the rights reverting back to Marvel.

It might not be a bad thing if Marvel gets there hands on the film though. They seem to be doing franchises right the first time around – I can’t imagine anyone rebooting Iron Man, Captain America, or Thor anytime soon. Perhaps FOX isn’t the one who should be going the Daredevil reboot. Let Marvel take, I say, they have a pretty good grasp on what makes a strong superhero film.
