Joseph Gordon-Levitt is leaving his mark on most of Hollywood’s big-budget films these days. He’s wanted or has been rumored for almost every prominent and sought after role in Hollywood and now, we can add one more film to that list. But first, let’s recap. The past few months have seen the actor flirt with the Justice League film, test for the lead role in Guardians of the Galaxy, put the finishing touches on his directorial debut, Don Jon’s Addiction, and turn down Garth Edward’s Godzilla. Not bad for a guy who is barely over 30. You’d think that the actor would be busy enough with all that on his plate but it appears not as this week, Dimension Films have announced that he’s signed on for Sin City: A Dame to Kill For.
Gordon-Levitt is set to play Johnny, who is being described as “a cocky gambler who disguises a darker mission to destroy his most foul enemy at his best game.” The character has apparently been created just for the film and despite not appearing in the comics, he’ll play an important role in the film’s overlapping plotlines. No other details were given but Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s involvement is enough to get us excited.
From Looper to The Dark Knight Rises to Premium Rush and Lincoln, 2012 was certainly a very successful year for the actor. He continues to give great performance after great performance and he’s quickly becoming Hollywood’s go-to leading man, and deservedly so. He has a tremendous amount of talent and personally, I love him in just about everything that he’s been in.
Sin City: A Dame to Kill For opens in 3D on October 4th and stars Mickey Rourke, Jessica Alba, Jamie King, Rosario Dawson, Jamie Chung and Dennis Haysbert, who replaced Michael Clarke Duncan.
