Jeremy Renner Says Avengers: Endgame Created New Beginnings For The MCU

Avengers: Endgame might've closed the book on the first 10 years of the MCU, but it most certainly isn't the end. After Spider-Man: Far From Home lands next month, Phase Four will kick off and restart the franchise in new and exciting ways. You could call it a "new beginning," then, as that's how one Avenger has described it.

While attending the 2019 Celebrity Fan Fest in San Antonio, Jeremy Renner teased that we’re far from the end of the MCU, promising that Marvel has “a lot of plans” up their sleeves.

“With Endgame, I think with any ending, it creates a new beginning for a lot of things. Marvel has a lot of plans for a lot of things. So it was exciting.”

The actor then went on to discuss how much pressure there was on Endgame and how Renner is pleased with the impact it made with the fans, re-emphasizing his point that it’s a “new beginning.”

“But to sum up 21 films is very difficult, but I think it satiates a lot of the fans. I’m only here because of the fans, as we all are. Hopefully I feel like we satiate a lot of people, and a lot of people had to go, but then I think it creates new beginnings for other things,”

It’s interesting that this tease for the future comes from Renner as Hawkeye was one of half the Avengers who have the potential for further adventures in the MCU. True, Hulk won’t be smashing much with his injured right arm anymore, but he’s still around. Plus, the God of Thunder is heading back out into space to either lead Thor 4 or appear in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3

As for Clint, he’s now got his family back so he could be set to retire again. However, reports of a Disney Plus TV series for the character suggest otherwise. Renner may be about to star in his own vehicle as Hawkeye finally, with Barton supposedly training up his protege, Kate Bishop. Plus, Black Widow cameo could be on the cards.

Disney Plus will also be home to other confirmed shows that prove Avengers: Endgame was just the beginning, like Loki, Wandavision and Falcon and Winter Soldier. The streaming service launches this November, so expect more news on Hawkeye’s future after that.
