Scarlett Johansson returns as Natasha Romanoff next year for her own movie at last. We Got This Covered has now heard that this will be the case. Our source tells us that Clint Barton will put in an appearance in Black Widow, though we’ve been informed that he’ll only have a small role. Other than that, we’re unsure exactly how he’ll fit into the proceedings as details are unclear at this time. But, according to our intel, we can say for sure that Hawkeye will definitely show up in some capacity.

This gels with claims from other sources who have said much the same thing. Plus, Black Widow is known to be filming in Hungary. Considering that there was an incident that occurred with Nat and Clint in Budapest that’s been a running joke since The Avengers, it seems like a good bet that this indicates that the event will finally be depicted on screen. Perhaps it’ll turn out to be how the duo met for the first time?

Set photos have also practically confirmed that Taskmaster will be the main villain of the film, though the comic book version’s skull mask appears to have been swapped for a more streamlined look. It’s possible that this is David Harbour’s role, though that’s just speculation at present.

Who knows, Hawkeye might even help Black Widow take him down? Time will tell, but as soon as we learn more, we’ll be sure to let you know.
