Beverly Marsh is undoubtedly one of the key characters within Stephen King’s It.
She’s a formative member of the Losers’ Club and one of Pennywise’s greatest foes – a character capable of rounding up Derry’s Losers even after a 27-year intermission.
That’s the length of time it takes before Pennywise claws its way out of the Derry sewers, though when he does – or, rather, when it does – the Losers Club will be ready and waiting. That is, in a nutshell, the plot driving It: Chapter Two, which has officially begun filming on the streets of Toronto.
To prove it, X-Men: Dark Phoenix star Jessica Chastain, who’s on board to play the adult Beverly Marsh, took to Instagram (h/t Bloody Disgusting) to show off her Bev-inspired hairdo and, frankly, she’s perhaps the perfect actress to play the grown-up version of Sophia Lillis.
Speaking of which, Lillis is expected to reprise her role for It: Chapter Two, given the New Line-backed sequel is set to include ’80s flashbacks as the Losers’ Club gear up to banish Pennywise once and for all.
The cast also includes Bill Hader as Richie, James McAvoy as Bill, James Ransone as Eddie, Andy Bean as Stanley, Isaiah Mustafa as Mike and Jay Ryan as Ben. Deadpool 2 star Bill Skarsgård returns as well as Pennywise the Dancing Clown, eater of worlds and destroyer of dreams.
It: Chapter Two is currently lensing across parts of Toronto in anticipation of its release next fall – September 6th, to be specific, and we all know how well the first movie performed in that late-summer corridor…
