Columbia are spoiling us, it seems, as they’ve just released another Django Unchained trailer which includes even more never-before-seen footage. Classified as the second international trailer, this might just be the best one yet.
Playing less on the comedic aspects of Quentin Tarantino‘s bloody homage to all things spaghetti western, this trailer contains a nice, grounded moment as Dr. King Schultz (Christoph Waltz) explains to freed slave Django (Jamie Foxx) that he feels responsible for his life having liberated him.
There’s also a better look at some of the film’s action set-pieces, with brilliantly-rendered shots of explosions and gunfights. And because it’s his favorite movie, and perhaps because The Good, the Bad and the Ugly is the defining influence on Django Unchained itself, the trailer is partly scored with Ennio Morricone’s beautiful “The Ecstasy of Gold.”
For those unfamiliar with Django Unchained, it tells the story of a slave-turned-bounty hunter who sets out to rescue his wife from a brutal Mississippi plantation owner with the help of a new mentor.
You can catch Django Unchained when it hits theaters on December 25th.
