Ever since the allegations first surfaced against him, Jonathan Majors has become the elephant in the room that Marvel Studios doesn’t seem to be interested in talking about.
Despite even more alleged accusers coming forward to push the star’s career even further towards the precipice when it was poised to launch straight into the stratosphere, the Disney-owned comic book company has yet to utter a single word or offer a statement on a scenario that’s got the potential to cut the knees off from right under the entire Multiverse Saga.
With Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania now available on digital and on-demand, Marvel has carried on hyping the home viewing release by completely refusing to acknowledge the fact Majors plays primary antagonist Kang the Conqueror. It’s led to widespread questions about how the powers-that-be will react should they end up left with no choice but to terminate his contract, but it’s been pointed out that it may not be the canon-breaker many are expecting it to be.
While the two cases aren’t directly comparable given the circumstances and their overall importance to the tapestry of the MCU as a whole, it remains entirely true that we were simply told Mark Ruffalo was our new Hulk, and that was that.
Maybe there doesn’t need to be a big song and dance after all, because if Kevin Feige decides that keeping Majors around is no longer worth the trouble, there’s always the chance he’ll simply announce a new Kang and continue on as planned with the remainder of Phases Five and Six without altering a single thing.
