Hot take suggests ‘Star Wars’ would benefit from more comedy

Don't worry, as soon as someone suggested messing with the formula, Reddit fans immediately disagreed.

Star Wars fans are known for their sense of humor, by which it’s generally understood that they tend to take the series set in the galaxy far far away very seriously, while sensing that there are conceivably humorous things that are probably said about it.

And so, when a user of the popular Internet message board Reddit proposed that Star Wars could possibly be a bit more farcical like Disney’s other huge property, Marvel, and allow for possibly a full out comedy series or movie, fans on the Star Wars subreddit behaved predictably by taking it in stride and enjoyed the idea of doing something different with the franchise as it enters its 45th year.

Of course we’re kidding. The Jedi faithful hated this idea. Which is not to say that the fans don’t enjoy a bit of comedy in their Star Wars, they just don’t want it to become the focus of a property that otherwise focuses on telling the same stories about the same set of characters over and over again.
