Steven Soderbergh does love his heist movies. After delivering Warner Bros. a corking heist trilogy, packed with A-list talent in the shape of Ocean’s Eleven, Twelve and Thirteen, he’s at it again. Logan Lucky is his next heist-related drama that’s now bolstered its cast with Oscar-winner Hilary Swank and Alien: Covenant‘s Katherine Waterston.
Unlike the Vegas charms of Ocean’s, Logan Lucky is a real-life drama based in the world of NASCAR, and is set to follow the tale of two brothers who stage a near-impossible heist to take place during a race. The news hails from Deadline, who sadly don’t offer any additional details on who either of the actresses will play. Let’s hope they get to sink their teeth into something a little meatier than romantic interests though. Perhaps they’re a couple of mechanics? Fingers crossed.
As for who’ll be tackling those two leading roles – it’s still unknown, despite the fact that Swank and Waterston are joining one helluva stacked cast: Daniel Craig, Adam Driver, Seth MacFarlane, Channing Tatum, Riley Keough and Katherine Heigl are all set to appear. With production expected to begin this fall, we should be receiving some official word on Logan Lucky, and potentially even a teaser trailer before the year is out.
