Ready for what’s perhaps the most spoiler-filled look at Joe and Anthony Russo’s Avengers: Infinity War yet? Good, because below that’s exactly what we have for you, thanks to a massive gallery of hi-res photos of all the various LEGO sets that’ll be released as tie-in merchandise for the film.
Granted, this is far from the first time we’re hearing of these, but up until now, most of the pics have been of the leaked variety and as such, didn’t give us the best look at what was included in them. With these shots, however, we can see the upcoming LEGO sets in all their glory and dig right in for any potential clues and story hints.
Speaking of which, there’s a lot to dissect here, from that final battle with Thanos we’ve heard so much about to the attack on Doctor Strange’s Sanctum Sanctorum. But perhaps most interesting, for us at least, is the LEGO set which details Thor’s quest to get his new weapon, which we now know will be called Stormbreaker.
Rumor has it that the God of Thunder will wind up being severely beaten by Thanos and thrown out into space, where he meets up with the Guardians of the Galaxy. From there, he heads off with Rocket and Teen Groot to visit the Dwarf King Eitri, who forged Mjolnir. Given that Thor’s hammer is now gone, he needs a new weapon and it’s here where he ends up finding Stormbreaker. However, the axe-hammer hybrid is slightly unfinished, so Teen Groot uses some of his wood for the handle.
With no confirmation on any of this from Marvel, we’d advise taking it all with a grain of salt, but it’s been a rumored plot point for a while now and the Thor’s Weapon Quest set does seem to line up with what we keep hearing. Then again, tie-in merchandise has been wrong many times before, especially LEGO, so who knows?
Either way, it seems that Thor won’t be the only Avenger getting an upgrade. In the aftermath of Spider-Man: Homecoming, Tom Holland’s Peter Parker will be suiting up as the Iron Spider, while we fully expect Tony Stark to be bringing along some new enhancements of his own. Oh, and did we mention Cap will have an upgraded shield, as well?
The Sanctuary II (AKA Thanos’ gargantuan warship) is armed and Earth’s Mightiest Heroes are manning the defenses – all that’s left now is for Avengers: Infinity War to make its debut and at this stage, May 4th can’t come quick enough.
